Hynix introduces GDDR5 memory at 7Gbps
앞으로 7기가비트 용량까지 나온다고 하는군요.

Hynix Semiconductor has announced its GDDR5 (series five, graphics double-data-rate memory) graphics memory which is able to transfer data at 7Gbps.

The newly-introduced 1Gb GDDR5 is built on Hynix' 54nm process technology. It operates at the fastest speed of 7Gbps, which is 40% improved compared to 5Gbps GDDR5 and processes up to 28GB of data per second with a 32-bit I/O. The new Hynix graphics memory is also designed to minimize power consumption at 1.35V power supply. The JEDEC-standard 1Gb GDDR5 graphics DRAM at 7Gbps targets high-end applications such as game PCs, game consoles and graphics cards.

Volume production of Hynix' new graphics memory is slated for the first half of2009, according to the company.
