Symptom
A message similar to the following is logged by MegaRAID Storage Manager on Operating System (OS) load:


  Controller ID: 0 SIM removed on enclosure: Int.Ports 4-7:1 ESM 1.


This message takes the form of a pop-up and an entry in the Windows Application log with the status of "Error."

Affected configurations
The system is configured with at least one of the following:
LSI Logic MegaRAID Storage Manager, any version
The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM Options:
ServeRAID-MR10M SAS/SATA Controller, option 43W4339
System Storage EXP3000, type 1727
This tip is not hardware specific.
The 1.93 and below firmware for the EXP3000 is affected.
Note: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

Solution
This behavior will be corrected in a future release of firmware.
The target date for this release is scheduled for third quarter 2009.

Workaround
The message is spurious and can be safely ignored.
Additional information
When the MegaRAID Storage Manager is used with the ServeRAID MR10M with firmware package 11.0.1-0008 connected to an EXP3000 at firmware level 1.93 or below, a message similar to the following is generated:


  Controller ID: 0 SIM removed on enclosure: Int.Ports 4-7:1 ESM 1.
